Jinguji Yuta x Iwahashi Genki x Kishi Yuta x Miyachika Kaito x Nakamura Reia x Haniuda Amu x Takahashi Fu
With nonstop wild ideas that will make your heart flutter for "what do you want to give your girlfriend for Christmas," as well as to "What do you want to get done by the end of the year," these seven give answers that sparkle. There's also talk of their recent condition fitting to each of them, so please enjoy!
[What do you want to get your girlfriend for Christmas?] Something you can't buy with money and that would stand out in her memory would be good, huh. I love thinking about that sort of thing! Going to the planetarium together with her… how does that sort of thing sound? I know I'm this sort of character, but I'm actually unexpectedly romantic, you know (laugh). I also seems like it'd be good to buy a guidebook and on a little trip to lots of romantic spots. Also, this isn't Japan, but someday, I want to try going to the Blue Grotto in Italy. It's a cave that you can enter from the ocean, but inside, the water is clear blue, and it's supposed to be really pretty. Someday, I want to go there with my most important person!
[What do you want to get done by the end of the year?] A Christmas party! With this group, we'd definitely get really fired up. I'd use helium gas to change my voice, and be the captain of getting everyone fired up. As for the person to bring food, Kishi seems like he can cook, so I'll leave the food to Kishi. The noisiest would probably be Amu… but when you say that, actually, it seems like besides Iwahashi and Reia, who are docile and quiet, we'd all be noisy (laugh). Even Fu, who's also usually quiet, becomes a Fu-world explosion once he gets into the mood of a party (laugh). Genki is a total mystery, and becomes quiet in a large group. Even though when we're in a small group, he's so noisy that even I'll say "be a little quieter" to him (laugh).
[One thing about your recent state?] Are you watching "49"? I watch it when it's on air every week. Even though I'm watching myself, I think my acting leaves room for improvement. Acting is so deep! Right, right, I read the article between the "49" members in last month's issue, and I had feelings all over again. I totally don't remember calling Fu stuff like "Takahashi" at all (laugh). Also, since last time, I turned 16! I'm the sort of person who wants to turn twenty as quickly as possible, so I'm happy that I'm one step closer to being an adult. For right now, my goal is to turn 18 and get a driver's license.
[What do you want to get your girlfriend for Christmas?] Hm, I want to make her smile. Usually, I try to make my junior friends laugh, but usually, it fails, and that's it… it's often that sort of sad conclusion, but in this case, even if I have to put my body on the line, I want to make her laugh. What would be the contents of the joke? Basically, I'm good at the silent type of humour… the so-called mono-boke.* I have confidence in my ability to do that type, so sometime during Christmas, I'd find some object around us and definitely make her laugh! At the end, if she thought, "Wow, today was so fun! I laughed too much, now my stomach hurts," I'd be happy.
[What do you want to get done by the end of the year?] I was able to get (Domoto) Koichi's contact information, so I accomplished my goal for the year! Now, I'm not wishing for anything! …if you say that, my brother recently moved out and started living on his own, and now I get to use his room. But the only things in the room are a futon and a TV… that's the current state of things. So, I want to fill up the room a little more. What I really want is a memory foam mat! I already have a memory foam pillow, so next I want the mat. I already tried it out in a shop, and your body really sinks into it! If I slept on that every night, I would definitely be obsessed with it~
[One thing about your recent state?] Since last time, it was Jinguji's birthday, and I got him something that he wanted. Earlier, I got a present from Jinguji on my birthday, so I wanted to find just the right gift for him, too. His reaction? "Crap, I'm gonna cry!" is what he said, but when Jinguji says it, you can't really hear it, huh.**
* This is a type of physical comedy using a prop to do something stupid and create humour
** Not really sure what he was trying to get across here… the original Japanese was 神宮寺が言うと、ホントに聞こえないんだよなぁ。If there's some connotation I'm missing, I'm sorry!
[What do you want to get your girlfriend for Christmas?] Soft and fluffy, warm pyjamas! You don't want the person you like to have cold feelings, right? But if her reaction isn't that good, I'd say, "I'll wear them myself!" and franticly think of a different present (laugh).
[What do you want to get done by the end of the year?] I want to be able to live just a little bit more like an idol (laugh). I watch shows that I was on, like "The Shounen Club," afterwards, but seeing myself try to act cool or sexy is really gross. Right now, I want to become someone with a sparkling aura, like (Nakajima) Kento-kun. Times when I want to be cool and sexy and times when I want to be sparkling come and go in a cyclical fashion (laugh). For right now, surely what I'm aiming for is, "Love Genty!" (laugh).
[One thing about your recent state?] "Johnny's Densetsu" ended. That one month was really difficult, but I made a lot of friends and was able to stand on the same stage as my beloved A.B.C-Z, so I was really happy. There was a time when two or three songs were suddenly added, and I really panicked. Even though I practiced franticly at home, the rehearsal director yelled "You can't do it at all!!" at me. Since Snow Man and Miyachika and everyone around me are good at dance, and I didn't think there was any way for me to reach that level, there were times when I just couldn't do it and was standing still all alone. Those feelings became so heavy and serious that one day, I shouted, "It's impossible! I just can't do it!" and burst into tears and started sobbing in the rehearsal studio. At that time, Miyachika said, "it's okay," and comforted me. Having spilled all my feelings, I was able to start feeling like I could try my best again. Of course, at the last show, I was crying my eyes out again (laugh). But A.B.C-Z has overcome that sort of tough experience many times in the past. So I have to do my best, too!
[What do you want to get your girlfriend for Christmas?] "A photo of the two of us on that day," I think. Then, when she looks at it, she can think, "Oh, we met at that place on that day," or "that conversation made me laugh," and things like that, and she can remember the day well, right? As for the photo, it would be good if it was a selfie, I think. Because if you ask someone else to take it, I've noticed that the people in the photo tend to become smaller. Predictably, it's good if our faces are the main subject of the photo… but even while I say that, I'm bad at selfies~ People's faces always get cut off and stuff like that, and I've never been able to take a selfie well. I want to print the photo we took together properly, too. Recently, everyone just stores photos on their smartphone, but with an important photo like that, I want to print it and properly give it to her.
[What do you want to get done by the end of the year?] I want to get food with Goseki-kun from A.B.C-Z! During the play, I asked him, "Please take me," and he responded, "Okay, be prepared," but it seems like if I don't pursue it from my end, it won't happen (laugh). Moreover, no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't say "please tell me your contact information." So, even though I'm brimming with feelings of really wanting to pursue the issue, I don't have any way to contact him (laugh).
[One thing about your recent state?] It seems like Genki talked about the time he cried in rehearsal, but it was actually when it was just the two of us practicing together. He expressed that he was really worrying, but I didn't know how to help him, and I was also worrying a lot at that time. At any rate, I said, "It's okay!" and comforted him, you know. Actually, before we were in the play, because of an argument we had, there was a really unpleasant feeling between us, and there a period when we didn't talk to one another at all. But I comforted him, and while we overcame a lot of things together, somehow, before we knew it, we had reconciled, and we became closer than we had ever been before. I think our relationship is what they call "kizuna."*
*kizuna means "bonds" or "emotional ties," but it has a sort of special, meaningful connotation. It's what Japan used to describe the Japanese people rallying together after the March 2011 earthquake, for example.
[What do you want to get your girlfriend for Christmas?] Hmmm, that's difficult. Earlier, in a questionnaire, I wrote "I want to go to the southern hemisphere together and go surfing," but actually, I don't know how to surf (laugh). But I am good at doing breast stroke, when it comes to swimming. Doing crawl, I can only barely do 50 meters, but if it's breast stroke, I can go on forever (laugh). If I'm with my girlfriend, anywhere seems fun, but having a Christmas party with my friends seems fun, too.
[What do you want to get done by the end of the year?] Gain a little more weight! I don't have much consciousness of it myself, but I've gotten a lot of fan letters that said, "Have you lost weight in the past half year? Please make sure you get enough nutrients properly." I've tried to have more awareness of it and consciously eat more, but for some reason my cheeks hollowed out. My height seems to have paused in getting taller, so hopefully all the nutrients that were going towards being taller will go towards growing wider now. I'm definitely eating steadily, though, so please don't worry about me!
[One thing about your recent state?] Recently, at the filming for "49," I've been talking to Yasui-kun about a lot of stuff, like my way of thinking. For example, "There are times when I feel like I can't move forward another step, or when it's hard to me to get into the flow of my friends' or fellow Juniors' conversation, so what should I do?" and that sort of thing. At that time, Yasui-kun responded, "You really think about deep things, huh. You're fine the way you are, so have a little more confidence," and I was really, really moved. Since he's someone who can give someone so much confidence and courage just through one conversation, I really think Yasui-kun is an amazing person. More and more, I've come to really like Yasui-kun, and I'm really happy I was able to be in this drama that gave me the chance to meet Yasui-kun.
[What do you want to get your girlfriend for Christmas?] If I was an awesome grown-up, I'd give a trip around the world as a present… that's the sort of thing that I idealize, but right now, I'm just a child. If we went to the sea nearby, somehow, it seems like it would become something like a sociological study, or people watching or something (laugh). But to me, it's unpleasant doing things that don't suit my age, like having a serious discussion or trying to seem cool or sexy. So… I'd probably give something safe, like an accessory as a present. Because accessories are something people like to get as gifts. But even in that case, it seems difficult… Okay, what about a knit scarf? I'd want her to use it frequently, so I'd choose a reversible type, and then I'd be happy if she matched it to her moods.
[What do you want to get done by the end of the year?] I want to be onstage as much as possible! This summer, I didn't have any big concerts, so I had the feeling of not running or dancing much. But because I was able to appear in Kis-My-Ft2's Dome concert, I ended up being able to dance quite a lot (laugh). When you think of Kis-My-Ft2, you probably think of energetic dance songs, but I like their calm songs better. My favourite song is an original song from their Junior days, "Ame." I'm pretty much a Kis-My-Ft2 connoisseur, right? (laugh)
[One thing about your recent state?] Recently, there have been an increasing number of opportunities for me to do skateboarding, so I'm really happy! I've been talking to Kakuta, who does roller skating, saying, "Next time, let's practice together!" My favourite skateboard trick is the half-pipe. More than just skating on the regular floor, it's seen as more flashy, so there's a good feeling. Also, I haven't had a chance to show it on stage yet, but I can also do grinding on a handrail, you know. The first time I tried it, it was totally scary! As I thought, I fell a lot during practice and my body became covered in bruises and scrapes, but I want to overcome that, and improve more and more!
[What do you want to get your girlfriend for Christmas?] When I become an adult, I want to try giving a gift through a big surprise, but ever since I was a kid, every time I try something romantic, it always fails, so for right now, I'll just endure (laugh). For right now, as expected, I'd probably give an accessory. Since it's the long-awaited Christmas, I'd go all the way and pick something from a brand I thought the girl would like. Recently, while I was walking around town, I went into a brand store that's famous for couples. I thought, "Now they're going to shop for accessories together. Somehow they seem so happy." I really like watching people being pleased. Since last time, it was Jinguji's birthday, and I gave him a popular jersey as a present, you know.
[What do you want to get done by the end of the year?] A little while ago, I passed a backflip class. For the time being, I wanted to be able to do it and then show my grandma, so I tried it, but I hurt my hand. Since then, it became a trauma for me, and I haven't been able to do it anymore. Because of that, before the end of the year, I'm thinking I want to become able to do it again. Also, I think it would be good if I could find a hobby that will be good for me. I recently became interested in English conversation and drums, so if I could start those, it would be good, I think.
[One thing about your recent state?] Recently, while understanding the meaning of studying, I've been to see a lot of different people's concerts. Among those, I went to see an American male artist in concert, and I was really stimulated. The way he showed himself on the stage was so large-scale, it was overwhelming. Being able to do concerts not just in your own country, but on a world tour… that's really amazing to me. And even though there's a language barrier, the concert was such that you wouldn't even notice that. Someday, I want to be able to stand on a stage abroad, too!
In other news, yomimashou and I ended up buying resale tickets to Gamushara J's Party. They were on the pricy side, but the venue's pretty small, so we're hoping that playing the seating lottery (or in this case, the standing spot lottery) will work out for us. It never really has before, but you know. We have hopes! XD;
