food~

A week ago, I had an enkai (work party) for my elementary school, and on top of being a lot of fun, there was also some delicious food! I only got two photos, but since they always have such nice presentation at these things, I wanted to share them.

This was the appetizers! I'm not honestly sure what it all was, ahaha, but I really appreciated the vegetables cut like fall leaves! The tomato had some sort of fish salad (like tuna salad, but I'm not sure it was tuna) that was quite delicious also.

Nabe! This autumn nabe had tsukune balls (ground chicken, basically chicken meatballs), mushrooms, chicken, leafy greens, tofu, and udon! The udon was sort of a surprise, but it was really delicious in there. I usually love tsukune, but sadly, these ones had bits of the cartilage in them, which I really don't like, so I ended up mostly avoiding them. All in all, it was super delicious, though! I love mushrooms, so I always enjoy eating them in fall in Japan.

Sadly, I always miss the big year-end parties because they're often right before Christmas, at which time I'm already with my family. Since Christmas isn't a big family holiday in Japan,
my family-time doesn't quite line up with Japanese family-time (on New Year's). Either way, I'm glad that I got to go to this party since I'm going to miss the ones in December!
