Title: Untitled as of thus. I need to think of one but I'm a loser. XO;
Disclaimer: House, MD is not mine. I wish it were, but sadly, it is otherwise.
Warnings: Vague gheyness. :D; And maybe language?
Author's note: House is so hard to write. XP; Wilson is so much easier. Damn House. XD;;
Think about it.
Talk to her.
Don't do this to yourself.
Making yourself miserable doesn't make you special, it only makes you miserable.
Think it through.
Talk about it.
Give people a chance.
Making yourself miserable only makes those around you miserable, too.
Cuddy wasn't surprised when the door to her office was unceremoniously thrown open and shut, nor was she surprised when House limped in and opened his mouth in that way that just screamed that he was about to spout an insult vaguely disguised as a mildly clever question. She was surprised, however, by what actually came out.
"You have any idea what's up with Wilson these days?"
Cuddy raised her eyebrows and looked up from the papers she was filling out. "Why?"
House furrowed his eyebrows in a perplexed expression, leaning on his cane. "He's been even more preachy than usual lately and I don't know what I've done to set him off."
Cuddy sighed and shook her head. "Like what?"
"You know, the usual." House shrugged. "The 'Give people a chance' or 'Don't be miserable all the time' crap."
Cuddy was confused momentarily, then realized what it must be. Resting her head in her hands, she sighed tiredly. She really didn't want to get involved in this...but knowing House, he was going to make it impossible for her not to.
House rolled his eyes. "Oh, you poor woman, over worked all the time. My heart is bleeding. Now answer my question."
"House, I really don't think it's my place to say-"
"Say what? What Wilson's been doing this time?" House interrupted annoyedly. "What, is he getting divorced again or something? It's not like it's not something I wouldn't know anyway."
"That's not it, House, it's just-"
"Oh, I see. It's another affair." House paused to gasp dramatically. "Is he sleeping with you? I never would have thought-"
"House. That's. Not. It." Cuddy sighed heavily, having known this was going to happen. Oh well, so much for not telling. It wasn't as if Wilson had told her straight out, anyway, it was just so blatantly obvious...but, still, she really shouldn't...
"If he's not sleeping with you, then why are you so hot on hiding who he is sleeping with from me, huh?"
But she was going to anyway. She had to shut him up somehow.
"House. Wilson is in love with you. He's ragging on you because he wants you to be happy. People are that way about people they love."
House stared blankly, for once at loss for words. "He's....what?"
"In love with you," Cuddy finished for him, sighing and looking back down at her papers. "So maybe you should consider being decent to him once in a while. Personally, I think he's out of his mind."
When Cuddy looked up again a moment later, the door was swinging shut.
"Oh, hey House. ...What's up?"
"Nothin' much. I'm feelin' in a good mood today. What do you say we go out for drinks or something?"
"...Do you need money again?"
"Nah, I was thinkin' it would be like... a date."
"...what are you talking about, House?"
"Come on, slowpoke. If you don't hurry up, you're paying."
Wilson slowly broke into an incredulous grin, speeding up his stride to catch up with House. The other doctor hurriedly hobbled through the door, turning to stick his tongue out at Wilson. "I made it out first. You're paying."
Wilson laughed amiably, but was still confused. "House, what brought this on?"
House shrugged. "Oh, I dunno. I was feeling a bit...loved, I guess." He put emphasis on the word and looked pointedly at Wilson for a second before looking back ahead of him.
Wilson slowed, tensing slightly. "...House?"
House turned over his shoulder and grinned lop-sidedly. "You coming, Jimmy? Wouldn't be the same without ya."
Wilson hesitated only a second longer before something in House's expression told him to get moving. Whatever this was, maybe, for a while, things weren't going to be quite so miserable.
